The Ogglebogs Short Story & Audiobook Series: Episode 40 - Thieva-Goons Again
The Thieva-Goons are back and they are up to no good! Can the Ogglebog friends stop these stinky aliens from causing so much mischief?
Thieva-Goons Again
It was a sunny morning at the Oggle Café. Rocco, Blobbo, Coco, Oddo, Beepo and Twinko were waiting for Pasto the baker. Pasto made the best ogglecakes on the whole of Planet Ogg. The Ogglebog friends couldn’t wait to start munching.
“I wonder where Pasto is? I’m so hungry I could yawn up ten ogglecakes,” said Blobbo.
“Me too,” said Coco.
“And me,” said Oddo.
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo.
“That’s true, Beepo,” said Rocco. “Only Blobbo can yawn things up.”
“Yes, but we are all hungry,” said Twinko.
“I expect Pasto will come out with the ogglecakes any minute now,” said Blobbo. “Hope so!”
Just then, Pasto came out of the kitchen, looking very cross.
“You won’t believe this! Those horrible Thieva-Goons have stolen all the ogglecakes I made this morning!” Pasto said.
Rocco said, “Blazing bananas! All of them?”
Blobbo said, “What? Every single one?”
“Every single one,” said Pasto.
“What are we going to do? No ogglecakes for us today? Oh my! Oh my!”
Pasto said, “I know it was Thieva-Goons because I heard their horrible laughing sound. ‘Heff, heff, heff’, it went. They probably tiptoed into my kitchen.”
Now, Thieva-Goons are from Planet Spledge. They land on different planets to steal things. And they are very smelly because they never wash. You see, the Thieva-Goons thought that stealing was just a bit of harmless fun. They didn’t think they were making anyone sad.
“They are dirty stinkers,” said Blobbo.
Twinko had a thinking face on. “Hmmm, those stinky Thieva-Goons need to be taught a lesson!”
“Yes, so they know how bad they have been,” said Coco.
“So they won’t take things from people ever again,” said Oddo.
Rocco said, “I thought we had taught them a lesson when they stole all the toys.”
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo.
“Oh yes, we splodged bath custard at them,” said Rocco, laughing.
“We used squiggling squirters, do you remember?” said Twinko, giggling.
“They didn’t like that one bit,” said Coco with a big smile.
“Made them smell nice for the first time in their stinky lives,” said Oddo, chuckling.
“So, anyway, no breakfast then,” said Blobbo, looking sad.
“No breakfast,” said Rocco.
“Maybe the Thieva-Goons take things because they don’t have anything of their own,” Twinko said.
“I hadn’t thought of that,” said Coco.
“Nor me,” said Oddo.
“Maybe they just don’t know how it feels to have things stolen from them,” Blobbo said.
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo.
“That’s a good idea, Beepo! Let’s go and find those stinky Thieva-Goons!” said Rocco.
“I definitely want my ogglecakes back!” said Blobbo.
“We all do,” said Twinko.
They all left the café and went down Bubble Mountain.
They looked and looked everywhere. They went to the Treetap Trees. They even looked behind their funny little houses, just in case.
“I know,” said Twinko, “what about the Spray Area?”
“No,” said Rocco, “we haven’t got time to play on the berry-go-round and the ground-about.”
“Silly Rocco,” said Twinko. “I meant we should look there!”
They went to the Spray Area, but there was no sign of the Thieva-Goons.
Finally, hidden away in the Mushmallow Forest, they found a rocket. It belonged to the Thieva-Goons.
The Ogglebogs hid behind a big mushmallow and waited.
Soon, the rocket door opened and out came two dirty, stinky aliens. They looked a bit like giant toads. They were dark green and had hairy purple spots down their backs.
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo.
“Okay, Beepo, we’ll stay here,” said Rocco.
Beepo followed the Thieva-Goons, flying high above the trees. They went into a cave on the side of a hill.
Beepo flew through the air back to the Ogglebog friends.
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo. The Ogglebog friends followed Beepo back to the cave.
Near the cave was Asterro sitting on the ground, crying. Asterro was a little, orange, star-shaped Ogglebog who wore moon-shaped glasses.
“Hello, Asterro,” said Twinko. “Why are you sad?”
Asterro said, “Because those Thieva-Goons stole my precious sparkly bracelet. They keep things they have stolen in that cave over there.”
Rocco had an idea and shouted into the cave, “Right, come out, you stinkers, and see what you have done!”
But the only sound that came out of the cave was the Thieva-Goons laughing. “Heff, heff, heff!”
Then, Beepo shouted, “Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz, bzzz, bzzzz, bzz, bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!”
This time, the two Thieva-Goons came out of the cave to see what was going on.
Then, Beepo said, “Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!”
Asterro looked at the two Thieva-Goons and said, “Beepo is my friend and says you have to give me back my bracelet.”
“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz!” said Beepo.
“Yes, that’s right, Beepo. You made me cry, you horrible stinky Thieva-Goons!” said Asterro.
Then, Asterro started crying again.
When they saw little Asterro crying, the Thieva-Goons looked a bit sorry. One of them raced back into the cave, then raced back out again, holding the sparkly bracelet. The Thieva-Goon handed it to Asterro.
Asterro had a big, happy smile about getting the precious bracelet back.
When they saw that smile, the two Thieva-Goons felt a warm and tingly feeling in their hearts.
One of the Thieva-Goons said, “We’re sorry for taking your bracelet. We didn’t know it made you sad.”
“It made us very sad when you took our ogglecakes,” said Blobbo.
The other Thieva-Goon rushed back into the cave, then raced back out again with a tray of ogglecakes.
“Thank goodness,” said Coco.
“Yes, we were all getting very hungry,” said Oddo.
Twinko held out two ogglecakes to the Thieva-Goons and said, “Would you like one?”
One of the Thieva-Goons started crying and said, “Thank you for sharing with us.”
The other one said, “We don’t deserve it.”
The two Thieva-Goons munched their ogglecakes.
“Oooh, these are yummy,” said one.
“Scrummy, yummy,” said the other one.
Twinko said, “Now you know that taking things can make people very sad.”
“We’ll never do it again,” said both Thieva-Goons.
Then Blobbo said, “Would you like to have a swim in the Custard Lake?”
One of the Thieva-Goons said, “But that will make us smell nice!”
Rocco asked, “Do you want to be our friends?”
Blobbo asked, “Do you want more ogglecakes?”
The Thieva-Goons both nodded.
“Then you must stop being stinky,” said Twinko.
“Okay, we’ll swim in the Custard Lake,” said one of the Thieva-Goons.
“We won’t like it one bit,” said the other Thieva-Goon.
“Yes, but we will,” said Coco.
“Yes, I agree,” said Oddo. We will!”
