Twinko Isn’t Sleepy

One morning on planet Ogg, Rocco, Blobbo, Coco, Oddo, Beepo and Twinko were at the Oggle Café on Bubble Mountain. They had just finished their delicious Ogglecake breakfast.

Then Twinko yawned. It was a very big yawn. The biggest yawn Twinko had ever done.

“You look sleepy, Twinko” said Rocco, “Didn’t you sleep very well last night?”

“Not much,” answered Twinko with a yawn, “I was worried about our new little alien friends from Planet Pip.”

“Don’t worry, Twinko. They can always come back if they need more Oggspice,” said Rocco.

“I suppose so,” said Twinko. “Oh, I hope I can get off to sleep tonight.”

“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz,” said Beepo.

“That’s a great idea, Beepo, we can all go to Twinko’s house and tell a bedtime story,” said Coco.

“That will help you get to sleep!” said Oddo.

Blobbo said, “Maybe we can have an Ogglecake picnic?”

“Not at bedtime, Blobbo,” said Twinko.

“Any time is Ogglecake time,” said Blobbo.

“Except for bedtime,” said Oddo.

“We’ll all come over to your house at bedtime, Twinko,” said Rocco.

“And we’ll tell you a story,” said Blobbo.

That evening all the Ogglebog friends arrived at Twinko’s house. Twinko was already tucked up in bed.

Everyone got comfy and Coco said, “This is the story of Oggilocks and the Three Ogglebogs.”

Oddo said, “Yes, Coco. Right. Once upon a time there were three Ogglebogs. They lived beside the Ogg Bog in a nice little blue house with pink windows.”

“Did they eat mushmallows?” asked Twinko.

“I expect so,” said Rocco.

“I quite like mushmallows,” said Blobbo. 

“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz, bzzz, bzzzz, bzz, bzzz, bzzzz, bzz,” said Beepo.

“That’s right, Beepo,” said Rocco, “One of them was a little pink Ogglebog, one was a middle-sized green spotted Ogglebog and the other one was a great big blue Ogglebog.”

“Like me?” said Blobbo. 

“Yes, like you,” said Rocco.

“Did the great big blue Ogglebog like Ogglecakes?” asked Blobbo.

“Everyone likes Ogglecakes, Blobbo,” said Twinko. “By the way, I don’t feel sleepy yet.”

Oddo continued, “One morning, they made some breakfast Ogglecakes. They went out for a walk while the Ogglecakes were cooling down.” 

“Good idea,” said Coco.

“Yes, and while they were out, a little Ogglebog went into the house,” said Rocco.

“What was this little Ogglebog called?” asked Twinko.

“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz,” said Beepo.

“That’s right, Beepo” said Blobbo, “With long, golden hair, this little Ogglebog was called Oggilocks.” 

Then Coco said, “First of all, Oggilocks tasted the Ogglecake of the great big blue Ogglebog. It was too hot. Next, Oggilocks tried the Ogglecake of the middle-sized green spotted Ogglebog. It was too cold. Next, Oggilocks tried the Ogglecake of the little pink Ogglebog. It was just right and Oggilocks ate it all up.”

“That’s just what I would have done,” said Blobbo. 

Twinko said, “By the way, I don’t feel sleepy yet.”

“Then Oggilocks went upstairs to the bedroom and tried every bed. The best one of all was the one belonging to the little pink Ogglebog. Soon, Oggilocks was fast asleep.” said Rocco.

Coco yawned.

Then Oddo yawned and said, “By this time, the three Ogglebogs thought their Ogglecakes would have cooled down. So, they came home.”

Blobbo said, “The great big blue Ogglebog said someone has been eating my Ogglecake!”

Rocco said, “The middle-sized green spotted Ogglebog said someone has been eating my Ogglecake!”

Coco yawned again and said, “The little pink Ogglebog looked and said, “Someone has eaten up all my Ogglecake!”

Oddo yawned again and said, “The three Ogglebogs went upstairs to the bedroom. “Someone has been lying in my bed!” said the great big blue Ogglebog.”

Twinko said, “By the way, I don’t feel sleepy yet.”

Coco yawned.

Then Oddo yawned.

Then Blobbo did a very big yawn.

“Bzzz, bzzzz, bzz,” said Beepo.

Then Beepo fell asleep.

“Yes, that’s the next bit, Beepo,” yawned Coco. “The middle-sized green spotted Ogglebog said, “Somebody has been lying in my bed!” On the bed of the little pink Ogglebog lay Oggilocks, fast asleep. The little pink Ogglebog said, “Somebody has been lying in my bed, and here they are!”

Then Coco fell asleep.

Then Oddo fell asleep.

Rocco did a big yawn and said, “Oggilocks woke up, went downstairs and ran out of the door.” 

And then Rocco fell fast asleep.

Then Twinko yawned a great big yawn and said, “I think I feel sleepy now. Night, night, everyone.”

But Twinko looked at all the Ogglebog friends and everyone was fast, fast asleep. 

With a big smile Twinko snuggled into bed and was soon dreaming happy dreams.
