Her age was never mentioned in the original fairy tale however many believe that she was 19 years olds and estimate Prince Charming to be around 21 years old.

What happens between Cinderella and Prince Charming?

When Prince Charming sees Cinderella for the first time, it’s love at first sight. Cinderella and Prince Charming initially meet at a ball where there’s an instant attraction. After meeting at the ball she has to return home before midnight without saying goodbye. Prince charming then tries to find her by going around the town asking all the women to try on the glass slipper. The prince finally comes to the wicked stepmother's house and the shoe fits cinderella. They live happily ever after!

Who are the main characters in this story?

The main Cinderella characters are Cinderella’s fairy godmother and her stepsisters, as well as of course prince charming. The stepmother and Cinderella’s stepsisters are nasty characters whereas the fairy godmother and prince charming are kind. There are iconic supporting characters such as the mice and memorable imagery including the glass slipper and Cinderella’s pumpkin.

What is the summary of this story?

This bedtime story is about good versus bad and how good people can be rewarded for their kindness. Despite being treated poorly by her stepfamily, she continues to be a kind and caring person. A perfect story for bedtimes.

The storyline summary is that Cinderella is living with her stepmother and stepsisters and forced to do all the household chores. She's not allowed to dress nicely or go to the royal ball. Then on the night of the ball, Cinderella’s fairy godmother appears and casts a spell that transforms her outfit into a ball gown, a pumpkin into a fancy carriage and mice into horses. Once at the ball Cinderella and Prince Charming fall in love with each other. But she has to return home before the fairy godmother's spell wears off leaving the prince wondering where she has gone. Whilst leaving in a rush, she loses one of her glass slippers. The prince uses this glass slipper to try and find her. After searching across the city and asking all the women to try the slipper on, the prince finds her and asks her to marry him.

Why did Sooper Books retell this fairy tale?

Sooper Books wanted to retell this story because we all had good memories reading this as children and we wanted to pass along this story to future generations. We love the moral message of being kind. Our team thoroughly enjoyed modernising the illustrations on this classic bedtime story.
